The P20STQS 3-1/4" Portable Planer is capable of planing, beveling, rabbeting, tapering and side planing of a flush door. Its 5.5 amp motor powers the no-load speed to 17,000 RPM. This planer accepts disposable double edge blades, but includes durable re-sharpenable blades, which are both cost effective and allow for extended use. A max cutting depth of 1/16" gives the user flexibility, and the lightweight design decreases fatigue. The P20STQS also allows for dust collection with a dust bag or vacuum attachment to keep the work surface clear of dust and debris.

Decent surfboard planer

If you are thinking of modding a cheap planer with one of the barrel blades that shapers austrailia sells, the one they have for p20st WILL fit in here, albiet barely. May put more strain on the motor as well, but that's why we buy cheap right?? Lateral plastic housing a bit of a pain to get off for modification but its all doable. I still have yet to file my shoe down and set up a vaccuum system for it, but plan to!

Worked on my sticky doors

I've used this 3 times. once when shaving the subfloor plywood of an old house bathroom to gain a smooth finish before laying down Tile, etc. and for a couple sticking doors. Easy to adjust depth.

All I have is Hitachi and Metabo hpt tools so I added this to the arsenal

This is a 120v tool though in the photo it appears to be 18v

Returned as it was not the 18v tool I expected.

Nice Planer with some Extras

Everything was packaged nicely and the tool seems to be of good quality. I wanted the more expensive Makita planer, but had trouble finding it in stock at the local HD. I found this one online while searching to order the Makita and thought I’d give Metabo a try and save myself 60 bucks. Easy to use and it comes with all that Makita kit was offering, plus the dust collection bag and attachment for dust extraction hose. If I get 2-3 years out of it, it’ll be well worth 110 bucks.

It’s alright

You need to be careful at the end of the pass, or it’ll snipe really bad. I had a dewalt before snd didn’t have this problem. There is a separate attachment that screws on for the dust bag/vacuum hose. The planer will not fit in the carrying case with this attachment installed. I modified the case to accept the planer and attachment.

Must have

This think is awesome. The blades come super sharp but are very hard making them hard to sharpen but is possible.Just takes time.Its one of my favorite tools not. I can cut slabes with my chainsaw and plane them flat in no time. Metabo htp make affordable quality tools.
